**Wentworth, England:** Hollywood actor Tom Holland might have helped his team win the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am, but it seems his celebrity status didn’t translate to instant recognition from world number 3 golfer Rory McIlroy.
The two had an awkward exchange on the practice range, with McIlroy appearing confused as Holland introduced himself. Despite the star’s best efforts to break the ice with a friendly handshake and “Hello mate,” McIlroy seemed to be none the wiser about the identity of the “Spider-Man” and “Captain America” star.
The brief and awkward conversation left fans on social media amused, with many speculating that McIlroy may be more familiar with DC Comics characters like Batman and Superman than Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Meanwhile, Holland had a much more successful encounter with fellow golfer Tommy Fleetwood. The pair teamed up with Holland’s twin brothers, Harry and Sam, to win the Pro-Am with a combined score of 31 under par.
McIlroy, on the other hand, was joined by former Real Madrid and Tottenham star Gareth Bale and former England cricketer Stuart Broad, with the team finishing in 24th place.
