Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be making a three-day trip to the United States, starting on September 21st. The visit will include attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York.

The Quad Summit, marking the fourth in-person meeting between the Quad leaders, will be held on September 21st. The leaders will discuss progress made over the past year and set the agenda for the coming year. On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi will engage in bilateral meetings with heads of state and US government officials. Agreements related to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and an India-US Drug Framework MoU are likely to be signed.

A special “Cancer Moonshot” event will also be held, highlighting the Quad’s commitment to innovative strategies for cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. The initiative aims to collaborate on reducing cervical cancer burden in the Indo-Pacific region.

From Wilmington, PM Modi will travel to New York to participate in the Summit of the Future at the UN. The Prime Minister will address the gathering of world leaders, focusing on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on time. Global challenges and gaps in global governance will also be discussed.

On September 22nd, PM Modi will interact with the Indian diaspora and participate in a technology roundtable with Tech CEOs. On September 23rd, he will address the Summit of the Future at the UN General Assembly and engage in further bilateral meetings.

While a meeting between PM Modi and former US President Donald Trump has not been officially confirmed, the Ministry of External Affairs said they are considering scheduling several meetings for the Prime Minister, based on available time.

The visit promises to be a busy one, with a packed agenda focused on strengthening partnerships, addressing global challenges, and fostering economic and technological collaboration.
