**MARION, OH** – Pleasant High School is reigniting its athletic hall of fame, recognizing the remarkable legacy of athletic achievements that have defined the school district for decades. The ceremony, set to take place this weekend, will induct 15 individuals, including athletes and coaches, who have left an enduring mark on the school’s sports history.

This revival comes after a hiatus of over three decades. While the hall of fame had previously honored first-team All-Ohioans and state champions since 1990, it was largely inactive in subsequent years. Pleasant Athletic Director Mike Lindsey, recognizing the rich athletic tradition of the school, took the initiative to revitalize the program, expanding the scope of recognition to encompass a wider range of outstanding athletes.

The inaugural class for 2024 includes a diverse group of individuals, including:

* Al Hogue (1942) – The school’s first state champion, winning the Class B 440-yard dash in track.

The induction ceremony will commence on Friday night during the River Valley at Pleasant football game, with a special section dedicated to the inductees and their families. A more formal ceremony and reception will be held on Saturday evening.

Lindsey expressed his commitment to ensuring the hall of fame continues to celebrate the achievements of Pleasant athletes and coaches, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative decision-making process for future inductions.
