**Waseca, MN – September 19, 2024** – Mayo Clinic Health System has announced the completion of a $4.2 million expansion and renovation project at its Waseca hospital’s emergency department. Construction, which began in June 2022, was funded in part by a generous donation from Paul G. and Susan R. Rosenau.
The project included the addition of a new exam and treatment room wing, a new ambulance garage, updated entrances for patients and emergency vehicles, and a redesigned floor plan. The modernized facility now boasts state-of-the-art equipment, enhancing the delivery of efficient and high-quality care to patients.
“This expansion and renovation mark a significant milestone for our hospital,” stated Dr. Martin Herrmann, medical director of Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca. “We are now better equipped to provide accessible and comprehensive emergency care to our community.”
The emergency department remained operational throughout the construction process, ensuring uninterrupted service for patients.
