**Cavan, Ireland – September 19, 2024** – Kingspan, the Irish insulation giant, has acquired Texas-based IB Roof Systems, a leading provider of PVC membrane roofing solutions. The deal marks Kingspan’s latest foray into the US market, as the company seeks to offer comprehensive roofing system solutions.
IB Roof Systems specializes in non-residential roofing, working closely with consultants and designers to provide complete roof systems, including insulation and accessories, directly to contractors. The acquisition grants Kingspan its first foothold in the US single-ply roofing market, offering an established position within the PVC membrane sector.
This acquisition complements Kingspan’s ongoing organic development, with the company investing €150 million in new facilities in Oklahoma and Maryland for the production of TPO membrane and polyiso insulation boards. These facilities are expected to begin production in early 2026.
“The combination of the IB acquisition and our organic developments represent significant steps in the early execution of our US Roofing strategy,” stated a Kingspan spokesperson.
The company’s recent interim report highlighted strong performance in the Americas, with increasing penetration of its technology. Kingspan, founded in 1965 and led by Gene Murtagh, reported record revenue in the first half of 2024, reaching €4.1 billion, a 2% increase year-on-year. The company anticipates even stronger performance in the second half of the year, expecting growth in trading profit for the full year.
