**New Delhi, India** – Yara India has announced the expansion of its Yara Leadership Academy (YLA) program, aiming to further enhance the business and leadership skills of Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Indian agricultural sector. Following the success of its first cohort, YLA Cohort 2 will now encompass participants from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, adding to its existing program in Western Uttar Pradesh.

This year, the program targets 700 applicants from over 70 districts across these regions, with a notable increase in female participation, now reaching 28.3%. Yara is also extending the program beyond retailers to include Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Independent Agricultural Entrepreneurs in Bihar, a dedicated group of women from Babrala Self-Help Groups, young girl learners, and participants from Bayer BLF Centres.

The 15-week curriculum, delivered by a team of 15 coaches, provides comprehensive training in business management, agronomic knowledge, and regenerative agricultural practices. Topics include business establishment, budgeting, growth mindset, product quality, customer service, and other key aspects of business operations.

“Yara envisions a future where Indian agriculture is not only productive but also sustainable, resilient, and equitable,” said Sanjiv Kanwar, Managing Director, Yara South Asia. “Empowering and upskilling individuals who form the backbone of the industry, including actively supporting women in agriculture, is crucial to achieving this vision.”

The program is recognized by the Management and Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) and the National Council for Vocational Education (NCVET), offering participants valuable certifications. Additionally, the program incorporates expert-led sessions that address key concerns faced by MSMEs in the agricultural sector, providing valuable market intelligence.
