**Chappaqua, NY** – The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival, one of the nation’s largest festivals dedicated solely to children’s literature, will return for its 11th year on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. The event, which runs from 10 AM to 4 PM, promises a day filled with author interactions, readings, book signings, and a celebration of the joy of reading.

This year’s festival boasts a stellar lineup, including headliner Laura Numeroff, author of the beloved “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” series. Attendees will also have the chance to meet Vashti Harrison, 2024 Caldecott Medal winner, and Dan Santat, New York Times bestselling author and winner of the 2023 National Book Award for Young People. Dozens of other children’s authors will be present, including Victoria Kann, Jane Yolen, Bryan Collier, Nikki Grimes, and many more.

Beyond author interactions, the festival offers a variety of activities for all ages. The popular Bubble Bus will be returning to delight children with its whimsical bubbles, and gourmet food trucks and vendors from the Chappaqua Farmers Market will be on site. Visitors can also explore the charming downtown area, with its unique shops and eateries, and visit the nearby Horace Greeley House Museum.

The event, spearheaded by Executive Director Dawn Evans Greenberg, aims to foster a love of reading and learning in children. Greenberg, whose publishing career spans over three decades, emphasizes the importance of books in shaping young minds, stating, “I believe one single book can save a life.”

The festival, which has grown from 65 authors and 4,000 attendees in 2013 to 165 authors and 10,000 attendees today, promises a day of fun, learning, and literary inspiration for families from the tri-state area and beyond.
