**Kyiv, Ukraine** – Andrii Odarchenko, a Member of Parliament (MP) from the ruling Servant of the People party, has been placed on both the national and international wanted lists by the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) of Ukraine. The court issued the warrant on September 19th following allegations that Odarchenko attempted to bribe officials at the Ministry of Reconstruction.
Odarchenko, who was scheduled to be questioned in court on September 18th, failed to appear and did not inform the court of his whereabouts. His defense attorneys also reported no contact with him. Subsequently, the HACC granted the prosecutor’s request to place the MP on the wanted list, a decision that comes into effect immediately.
The Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) confirmed that Odarchenko is believed to have fled abroad prior to his scheduled court appearance. The court will further consider forfeiting the bail paid by Odarchenko and imposing a stricter measure of restraint on September 23rd.
The accusations against Odarchenko, if proven, could lead to significant legal consequences. The case highlights the ongoing fight against corruption within Ukraine’s government and emphasizes the importance of accountability for public officials.
