Thu Sep 19 06:07:00 UTC 2024: ## Shinkansen Train De-couples, Halts Service Between Tokyo and Aomori
A Hayabusa-Komachi bullet train on the Tohoku Shinkansen line experienced a sudden decoupling incident on Thursday, forcing an emergency stop and causing temporary service disruptions. The train, consisting of 10 Hayabusa and 7 Komachi cars, was heading towards Tokyo when the incident occurred.
While the train did not derail, all services on the Shinkansen line between Tokyo Station and Shin-Aomori Station in Aomori Prefecture were halted in both directions. Operations resumed around 1:10 p.m. after inspections were completed.
JR East, the operator of the line, is currently investigating the cause of the decoupling.
