Wed Sep 18 17:28:00 UTC 2024: ## Roma Fires De Rossi, Appoints Juric as New Head Coach

**Rome, Italy** – Daniele De Rossi has been sacked as head coach of AS Roma after just eight months in charge, the club announced on Tuesday. The decision comes after a disappointing start to the Serie A season, with Roma failing to win any of their opening matches. De Rossi, a club legend who spent nearly two decades as a player for Roma, took over the managerial reins in January after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. He signed a contract extension until 2027 in June.

“The decision is made in the best interests of the team, to get back on the desired path as soon as possible at a time when the season is still in its early stages,” the club statement read. “A heartfelt thank you to Daniele, who will always be at home at the Giallorossi club, for the work he has done in recent months with passion and dedication.”

Replacing De Rossi is Ivan Juric, who arrives on a contract until the end of the season. Juric boasts extensive Serie A experience, having managed Torino for three years before a mutual parting of ways at the end of last season. He has also previously coached Crotone, Genoa, and Verona.

Roma fans will be disappointed to see De Rossi depart, given his iconic status at the club. However, the club’s poor start to the season has seemingly forced their hand, as they look to turn their fortunes around under the leadership of Juric.
