**ANAHEIM, Calif. (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)** – The Masons of California have announced a record-breaking donation of $55,198 to the Angels Nike RBI League, raising the total funds raised through their Masons4Mitts baseball mitt drive to $2.3 million since its inception in 2009.
The annual Masons4Mitts campaign, a partnership between the Masons of California and major league baseball teams including the Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants, provides free, high-quality baseball mitts to young players across the state.
Since 2018, the initiative has gifted over 11,000 mitts to children from underserved areas in Southern California through the Angels Nike RBI League, and more than 118,000 mitts to players statewide.
“We are incredibly proud of this milestone,” said Sean Metroka, Grand Master of the Masons of California. “Masons4Mitts is a testament to our commitment to youth development and providing opportunities for all children to enjoy the sport of baseball.”
Beyond providing equipment, Masons4Mitts strives to create a safe environment for young athletes to develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, health and nutrition awareness, and study habits.
The Angels Nike RBI League hosted a special pregame celebration on September 17th, recognizing the Masons of California’s contribution and their unwavering commitment to youth baseball.
The Masons4Mitts campaign is just one example of the Masons of California’s dedication to education and development, with other philanthropic endeavors including the “Investment in Success” scholarship program and partnerships with Raising A Reader to promote literacy in under-resourced schools.
