**New Delhi, September 19, 2024:** Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has made his foray into the business world with a strategic investment in Techjockey.com, an online software marketplace. Pant has acquired a 2% stake in the company for ₹7.40 crore, marking a significant development in his entrepreneurial journey.
Techjockey.com, founded in 2017 by former Zomato Vice President Akash Nangia and his college friend Arjun Mittal, connects software vendors with small businesses across India. The company recently raised fresh capital at a valuation of ₹370 crore (approximately $44.17 million), with Pant’s investment being a part of this funding round. Techjockey has also expanded its operations into the US market this year.
Expressing his rationale behind the investment, Pant highlighted the importance of technology in various sectors, including professional sports. He shared, “The right technology is crucial for live streaming, commentary, and DRS in cricket. You need the right tools to make quick decisions. I have seen how the right software can effectively drive a business, making Techjockey.com a worthy investment for me.”
The cricketer added that he is impressed by the SaaS model and its potential for growth. He believes that Techjockey’s business model, which connects over 500 software categories with over 5 lakh companies every month, holds immense promise for future success.
Co-founder Akash Nangia revealed that Techjockey generated revenue of ₹125 crore in FY2023-24, with a target of ₹170-180 crore for FY2025. The revenue stream comprises primarily platform commission and a smaller portion from advertising sales.
Pant’s investment in Techjockey.com is expected to further strengthen the company’s position in the rapidly growing software marketplace and fuel its expansion plans.
