Thu Sep 19 17:09:16 UTC 2024: ## Modi Slams Rahul Gandhi’s “Devta” Remark, Accuses Congress of “Naxal Mindset”
**Katra, Jammu and Kashmir:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of insulting Hindu deities with his recent remarks on the word “Devta” and displaying a “Naxal mindset” imported from other religions and countries.
Addressing a rally in Katra, Modi accused the Congress of being willing to compromise faith and culture for votes. He specifically targeted Gandhi’s recent statement in the US, where he claimed that “Devta” in India refers to someone whose internal feelings align with their external expression, and not necessarily a deity.
“The Congress heir (Rahul Gandhi) went abroad and said that our ‘devi-devta’ are not gods… It is an insult to our faith. Congress should be punished for this,” PM Modi said. He further accused the Congress of deliberately using the “Naxal mindset” to insult the Dogra culture of Jammu.
PM Modi also reiterated his government’s commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, stating that this was a promise made in Parliament. He further boasted about his government’s achievements, highlighting the construction of dams to prevent water flow to Pakistan, a practice he accused the Congress and National Conference of allowing.
Modi declared that Article 370 will never be brought back to Jammu and Kashmir and that his government will not allow any Pakistani agenda to be implemented in the union territory. He also asserted that separatism and terrorism have been weakened following the abrogation of Article 370 and will be eliminated completely.
