Wed Sep 18 17:49:47 UTC 2024: ## Hamlin Faces Mounting Pressure Ahead of Bristol Night Race

With the NASCAR playoffs in full swing, the pressure is on for Denny Hamlin to turn his season around. Following a string of poor performances, the veteran driver finds himself on the cusp of elimination heading into the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Kevin Harvick, a former Cup Series champion and longtime rival, has expressed his concern for Hamlin’s championship hopes, acknowledging the mounting pressure on the No. 11 driver.

“It’s Denny. It’s not even close,” stated Mamba Smith, a member of Harvick’s “Happy Hour” podcast. “They’ve had the most pressure since they left Atlanta. The strategy went south, they got wrecked on lap zero at the start of the race, and now they’re down six points.”

While Harvick, who has been rooting for Hamlin to win a championship this season, remains hopeful, he admits that the driver’s recent struggles make a title run seem increasingly difficult.

“Everything in the sport, all the stuff, it just all unraveled at the wrong time,” Harvick said. “I don’t have the utmost confidence that they can pull out of it, unfortunately.”

Despite the pressure, Hamlin can take solace in his strong track record at Bristol. The track has historically been a good one for the driver, providing him with an opportunity to turn things around. However, with multiple external factors potentially impacting the race, nothing is guaranteed.

Hamlin needs a strong performance at Bristol to avoid elimination and advance to the Round of 12. The pressure is on for the veteran driver, and his championship hopes hang in the balance.
