Wed Sep 18 02:28:20 UTC 2024: ## India’s Young Guns Ready for Test Cricket: Rohit Sharma Confident Despite Long Break

**Chennai, India:** India’s captain Rohit Sharma has expressed confidence in his young stars like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dhruv Jurel, despite the team’s long hiatus from Test cricket. These rising talents have shown glimpses of their potential in recent domestic competitions and are ready to contribute to the national team, according to Sharma.

“They have everything that is required to be a top player for India in all three forms,” said Sharma. “Honestly, we don’t need to speak too much to them… They’re very hungry to play cricket for India and be successful.”

Sharma praised the fearless and responsible approach of these young players, highlighting their ability to perform well under pressure. He particularly commended Jaiswal’s recent success in the England series and Jurel’s impressive display with the bat.

The captain acknowledged the challenges of returning to red-ball cricket after a long break. However, he stressed the importance of the preparatory camp in Chennai, which has helped the team get back into the groove. He also pointed out that the Duleep Trophy provided valuable playing time for players like Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan, who have been sidelined due to injuries.

“It’s not easy when you don’t play (red-ball cricket) for a period of 6-8 months,” said Sharma. “But the good thing is that a lot of guys in the squad are quite experienced. We assembled here on the 12th and we’ve had a good time spending hours on the field, getting everything together. I feel, you know, we are quite ready for this game and what lies ahead of us.”

India will face Bangladesh in their first Test series since their home triumph against England earlier this year.
