Wed Sep 18 17:59:00 UTC 2024: ## New Non-Profit Organization ACT-ADR Aims to Revolutionize Business Dispute Resolution

**NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2024** – A new non-profit organization, the Association of Commercial and Transactional ADR Professionals (ACT-ADR), has been established to promote and support business-focused dispute prevention and resolution initiatives. Founded by five distinguished professionals with expertise in both law and business, ACT-ADR aims to connect companies and legal teams with skilled dispute professionals who understand the complexities of the commercial world.

“We understand the profound impact disputes can have on a company’s operations and bottom line,” said Myrna Barakat Friedman, ACT-ADR’s inaugural President. “Our members have been on the front lines of business decision-making, so we know firsthand how deals are made and the consequences of unresolved conflicts.”

ACT-ADR’s members, including arbitrators, mediators, settlement counsel, and advisors, possess both deep business and legal experience. This unique combination allows them to offer tailored solutions to disputes arising from complex commercial and financial matters.

“As commercial and financial issues driving business disputes grow more complex, there is an increasing need for disputes professionals who not only possess legal skills but also deep business acumen,” Barakat Friedman emphasized.

ACT-ADR plans to work collaboratively with corporate leaders, administrative institutions, and solution-focused legal and business professionals globally to advance the field of dispute resolution. The organization’s founding members—Myrna Barakat Friedman, Noah Hanft, Michael Lampert, Scott Partridge, and Jim Reiman—bring decades of experience across various corporate, transactional, and financial areas. Their expertise positions ACT-ADR as a critical facilitator within the ADR ecosystem.
