**SPRINGFIELD, VT** – The Vermont State Police are investigating the death of Gary L. Partridge, 54, who was found deceased at Springfield Hospital Tuesday evening. Partridge had been incarcerated at Southern State Correctional Facility since 2014 on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child and violation of conditions of release.

According to police, Partridge was transported to the hospital around 10 p.m. due to his poor physical health. He was pronounced dead at 10:53 p.m. An autopsy will be conducted at the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Vermont State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Partridge’s death but have stated that it does not appear to be suspicious.

Partridge had a history of violating his release conditions. In 2014, he pleaded not guilty to 47 misdemeanor counts of violating conditions of release, including violating a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and having contact with a minor outside the supervision of his sister.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Vermont State Police will provide updates as they become available. Further questions should be directed to the Department of Corrections.
