Wed Sep 18 14:38:00 UTC 2024: ## Raducanu Embraces Busy Schedule After Admitting Summer Scheduling Errors

British tennis star Emma Raducanu has revealed that she plans to play in as many tournaments as possible before the end of the season, aiming to make up for a sparse summer schedule that she admits was flawed.

The 21-year-old, currently ranked 70th in the world, has been competing in her third tournament since her fourth-round exit at Wimbledon, currently playing in Korea where she secured a hard-fought win in the first round.

Raducanu, who skipped the Olympics to focus on the North American hard-court swing, only played in Washington before the US Open, resulting in a first-round defeat that left her emotional and admitting she should have played more.

Now, with a heavy schedule in Asia that includes the China Open and the Wuhan Open, Raducanu is determined to make up for lost ground. “As long as I’m healthy, I’m going to try and finish the season and play as many matches as I can,” she told wtatennis.com. “I’ve not played many points, even in practice.”

Raducanu, who is eager to return to Asia after missing most of last season due to injuries, is relishing the opportunity to compete in China for the first time.

“I stacked the year on the backend heavy, because I’m excited,” she said. “I thrive in Asia.”

With no ranking points to defend, Raducanu has a golden opportunity to improve her ranking in the coming weeks.

The former US Open champion’s return to the court comes as the only British player remaining in the Korea Open draw, after qualifier Heather Watson was defeated in the first round.
