Wed Sep 18 17:57:44 UTC 2024: ## Cyclist Seriously Injured in Brentwood Crash, Police Seek Witnesses

**Brentwood, Essex** – Essex Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Lincolns Lane, Pilgrims Hatch, near Brentwood on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 5pm, near Felly Farm close to Weald Road. Emergency services were called to the scene and the cyclist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police are currently unable to identify the cyclist, described as a man in his 40s to 50s with a bald head, wearing a high-visibility jacket and riding a green and black Boardman racing bike. He was cycling towards South Weald at the time of the crash.

Officers believe that waste materials situated in the road may have contributed to the incident and are urging anyone who witnessed the waste being placed there or has knowledge of it to come forward.
