**Manama:** The Inter Collegiate Prayer Fellowship (ICPF) Bahrain Chapter successfully hosted a ‘Knockout Cricket Tournament’ at the Sinch Al Ahllali Stadium, drawing in over 600 participants and spectators. The tournament witnessed intense competition among 16 participating teams, with Peniel Strikers emerging victorious after a series of thrilling matches.
The tournament was inaugurated by ICPF Bahrain Chapter President, Noel Jacob, in the presence of prominent figures including Pastor P.M. Joy, Pastor Babu Abraham, Pastor Titus Johnson, Pastor Valerian, Pastor Price Thomas, Pastor Jobi Thomas, and prominent social activists Raju Kallumparam and Binu Kunnandanam.
Peniel Strikers, in their final clash against COG Rising Stars, showcased their dominance by scoring 89 runs for the loss of two wickets in five overs. COG Rising Stars, in their chase, managed to score 73 runs for the loss of one wicket within the allotted overs, falling short of the target.
The victorious Peniel Strikers were awarded the trophy by Noel Jacob, while the runners-up COG Rising Stars received their award from ICPF Treasurer, Justin Mathew. The tournament also saw the presentation of individual awards: Akhil Varughese was named ‘Best Batsman’, while Suraj Varughese received the ‘Best Bowler’ award. These awards were presented by Tournament Convener, Aneesh Thomas, and committee member, Rijoy Philip.
The event was presided over by Ashick Murali, Secretary of the ICPF Bahrain Chapter, with other committee members including Ebin James, Jincy Mathew, and Nithin Jose in attendance. The tournament concluded with a resounding success, showcasing the strong spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie within the community.
