Tue Sep 17 06:31:10 UTC 2024: ## Partial Lunar Eclipse to Grace Skies on September 18, 2024, Visible Across Five Continents
Stargazers worldwide will have the opportunity to witness a partial lunar eclipse, also known as Chandra Grahan, on September 18, 2024. This marks the second lunar eclipse of the year, but unfortunately, it will not be visible in India.
The eclipse occurs due to the Moon’s elliptical orbit, which brings it closer to Earth. During the eclipse, the Moon passes through part of Earth’s shadow, causing a partial obscuring of its surface.
This astronomical spectacle will be visible across five continents, including Europe, Africa, North and South America, and parts of Asia.
For those unable to see the eclipse in person, major space agencies like NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) will be livestreaming the entire event.
