Routh’s criminal history is extensive, with over 100 criminal counts filed against him in North Carolina. In 2002, he was convicted of possessing a weapon of mass destruction – a machine gun.

Despite his criminal record, Routh also engaged in community work, building storage units and tiny houses for homeless people.
