Wed Sep 18 03:51:58 UTC 2024: ## Tesla Marks Milestone with 100th Supercharger in Australia

**Adelaide, South Australia:** Tesla is celebrating a major milestone in Australia with the opening of its 100th Supercharger station. Located in Glenelg, South Australia, the charger features a special green and gold livery adorned with a badge marking its significance.

The Supercharger, located at the Glenelg Supercharger complex on Partridge Street, will officially open at 10 am on Thursday, September 19. While Tesla’s Supercharger rollout has been slower in Australia than in other countries, the company has been steadily expanding its network. The first Australian Supercharger opened in 2014 in Sydney’s Pyrmont suburb.

The new Glenelg Supercharger features only V3 chargers, the latest generation offering peak charge rates of up to 250kW. While Tesla claims its V4 Superchargers will eventually reach 350kW, these are yet to be deployed in Australia.

Tesla’s expansion plans in South Australia include additional Supercharger stations in Bordertown, Norwood, and Port Augusta, with locations chosen by a public vote. This commitment to expanding its Supercharger network in Australia comes despite recent high-profile layoffs overseas.

The company has assured fans that projects currently under construction will be completed and put into operation. This latest development indicates a continued commitment to supporting Tesla owners in Australia with convenient and fast charging options.
