Tue Sep 17 06:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Nigerian Startup SunFi’s Explainer Video Shines a Light on Renewable Energy

**Copenhagen, Denmark:** Studio Morfar, a creative agency based in Copenhagen, has produced a striking explainer video for SunFi, a Nigerian startup promoting solar energy adoption. The video, a departure from typical energy company explainers, utilizes a bold, graphic style and a powerful concept of light to showcase the benefits of switching from fossil fuels to solar power.

The two-minute video, designed by British illustrator and animator Con McHugh, is divided into two distinct acts. The first act, rendered in black and white, portrays a city struggling with unreliable energy sources, showcasing the strain and darkness that fossil fuels bring. The second act bursts into vibrant color as the sun’s power illuminates a world full of life and energy, representing the positive impact of solar energy.

“We wanted to show characters struggling to keep the lights on, quite literally pushing back at these light beams and feeling very claustrophobic,” explained McHugh, highlighting the stark contrast between the two acts.

The video’s success can be attributed to the collaboration between Studio Morfar and SunFi. The agency, despite not being from Nigeria, took great care to ensure cultural appropriateness and accuracy, relying heavily on SunFi’s guidance. The collaboration even extended to the voiceover, with SunFi’s founder, Rotimi Thomas, delivering a powerful and engaging performance.

The video has received widespread praise for its creativity and effectiveness in highlighting the benefits of solar energy. It serves as a powerful tool for SunFi, helping them reach Nigerian consumers and inspire a shift towards a more sustainable future.
