Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, better known as Akothee, has revealed the shocking reason behind her recent separation from her Swiss husband, Denis Schweizer, also known as Mister Omosh.
In a candid interview, Akothee disclosed that Omosh concealed significant mental health issues from her before their lavish wedding in April 2022. The singer confessed that she couldn’t tolerate the lies and the subsequent secrecy, ultimately leading to their separation in June.
“He had something like bipolar disorder. When he told me, I asked him why he hadn’t told me before we got married and embarrassed me in front of people,” Akothee revealed.
The mother of five emphasized that while marriages often come to an end, she was particularly hurt by the lack of honesty from her husband. She also used this opportunity to address men who take relationships lightly, particularly with women over 40.
“You know, at this age of 40, we don’t have time for jokes, we don’t like jokes,” she said, adding that women in their 40s are looking for serious commitment and are not easily fooled by casual flirtations.
Akothee’s revelation sheds light on the importance of open communication and honesty within relationships, especially concerning mental health issues. Her experience serves as a reminder that marriage is a journey built on trust and understanding.
