Mon Sep 16 15:43:48 UTC 2024: ## Charter Communications Unveils Cheaper Internet Bundles to Counter Competition

**BENGALURU, INDIA -** Charter Communications, the company behind Spectrum, has announced a new strategy to fight off competition from rivals like Comcast and AT&T. The move, dubbed “Life Platform,” includes lower-priced internet plans bundled with mobile and cable TV services, as well as faster internet speeds for existing customers.

Starting Tuesday, customers can choose from two new internet plans:

* **Spectrum One:** Offers 500 megabytes per second for $30/month when bundled with two mobile lines or cable TV.
* **Spectrum Gig:** Offers 1 gigabytes per second for $40/month.

Charter has also increased the speed of two of its existing broadband plans at no extra cost. These initiatives come as consumers increasingly turn away from traditional cable bundles in favor of streaming services and wireless providers like AT&T and Verizon offer broadband internet plans.

Charter’s move to expand into rural areas appears to be paying off, but the company is also facing challenges due to service outages. In July, they paid a $15 million penalty related to network outages that occurred last year. To address customer concerns, Charter has pledged to provide credits in the event of future outages.

The new “Life Platform” will be rolled out in 41 states this week. The company hopes these initiatives will attract new customers and retain existing ones in a rapidly changing telecommunications landscape.
