Cardi B is not holding back in a lawsuit filed against her and her estranged husband, Offset, accusing them of underpaying for a mansion used in a music video shoot. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper took to social media, vehemently denying the allegations and accusing the property owners of being “greedy.”
Cardi claims the couple paid $10,000 in cash to rent the mansion for 24 hours, exceeding the rental time by only one hour for which they paid additional fees. She refutes the claim that the video shoot was falsely presented as a TikTok video, pointing out the lengthy shoot and the fact that the song played on set.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleges that Cardi and Offset’s representatives booked the property anonymously under false pretenses, using it for a music video shoot rather than a TikTok video, thus avoiding paying full market value. The video in question, “Like What,” has since garnered over 26 million views on YouTube.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Cardi maintains her innocence, stating her intention to fight the lawsuit and accusing the owners of being motivated by greed. She also clarified that the real estate agents involved have been trying to settle the issue for months.
This lawsuit adds another layer to the already eventful year for the couple. They recently welcomed their third child on September 7th, just weeks after Cardi filed for divorce from Offset for a second time in August.
