**Pune, India:** Bajaj Auto, the Indian two-wheeler giant, is gearing up to expand its Triumph motorcycle network in India, aiming to capitalize on the booming mid-size motorcycle market. The company plans to increase its dealership count to 170 by year-end and beyond 200 by next year, with a focus on expanding into smaller cities and towns. This aggressive strategy follows the successful launch of the Triumph Speed T4 and Speed 400 motorcycles in September.
“We are looking at a very rapid growth in coverage over the next 18 to 24 months,” stated Bajaj Auto President of Pro Biking Business Unit Sumeet Narang. He also highlighted the importance of launching new Triumph models in the coming year to further bolster the brand’s presence in the market.
The mid-size motorcycle segment, where Triumph competes with brands like Royal Enfield, is witnessing a rapid expansion, growing at a CAGR of 30%, significantly higher than the overall motorcycle market. Bajaj Auto has already achieved a strong position in this segment, becoming the second-largest player in volume terms.
The company is confident about further strengthening its position with the introduction of new models, leveraging its extensive dealer network and strong brand recognition. The Triumph and Bajaj alliance has already successfully launched over 60,000 bikes in over 50 countries, including India.
