**Jammu, September 18, 2023:** Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, while addressing election rallies across Jammu and Kashmir, launched a scathing attack on the “dynastic politics” of the Abdullah, Mufti, and Gandhi families, accusing them of keeping the region disconnected from the rest of India for 75 years. He asserted that the BJP’s abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 ushered in a new era of development and progress for J&K, which was previously held back by the Article.
Thakur claimed that the three families, despite being in power for decades, failed to deliver basic services and instead fostered separatism, terrorism, and stone-pelting. He cited the Valmiki and Gujjar-Bakarwal communities as examples of groups deprived of their rights and opportunities due to the “curse” of Article 370.
He highlighted the BJP government’s investment of Rs 25,000 crores in J&K and promised an additional Rs 75,000 crores, emphasizing the party’s commitment to the region’s development. Thakur also mentioned various government schemes, including the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at improving the lives of the people.
The first phase of the J&K Assembly elections commenced today, with 24 constituencies going to the polls. The BJP is actively campaigning to ensure the continuation of its development agenda and prevent the resurgence of separatism and violence.
Thakur urged voters to choose the BJP to ensure J&K’s prosperity and development.
