Sun Sep 15 17:04:19 UTC 2024: ## Missouri Tigers Remain Ranked but Slip in Coaches Poll
**Columbia, MO** – Despite a hard-fought win over Boston College on Saturday, the Missouri Tigers saw their ranking slip slightly in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll. While the Tigers remain at No. 8, they are now tied with Penn State, who they were previously ahead of by one voting point.
The drop comes after Tennessee, who defeated Kent State 71-0, jumped from No. 9 to No. 7. Missouri’s win over Boston College was not without its struggles, as the team overcame a slow start and numerous self-inflicted mistakes. Luther Burden III had a strong performance, recording 117 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Brady Cook threw for 264 yards and a rushing touchdown to secure the victory.
Meanwhile, Boston College, who was not ranked in the previous Coaches Poll, fell out of the rankings entirely after their loss in Columbia.
The Tigers are set to face Vanderbilt next, who are no longer receiving votes after a loss to Georgia State. Missouri has a challenging schedule ahead, with upcoming games against ranked opponents including Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
The AP Top 25 also saw some changes, with Texas taking the top spot from Georgia. Missouri dropped to No. 7 in the AP poll, also falling behind Tennessee.
The SEC continues to dominate the rankings, with six teams in the top seven. The Tigers will look to make a statement against their conference rivals throughout the remainder of the season.
