**Mumbai, September 17, 2024:** Jio users across India faced significant network issues on Tuesday, leaving many frustrated and taking to social media to vent their grievances. The outage was particularly severe in Mumbai, the country’s financial capital.
According to DownDetector data, over 10,000 Jio users reported network issues by 12:36 PM. The complaints began as early as 10:13 AM, with 7 users reporting issues, escalating to 653 users by 11:13 AM.
The majority of complaints (68%) reported “No Signal,” while 18% faced mobile internet issues and 14% encountered problems with Jio Fiber broadband.
Interestingly, other telecom networks like Airtel, Vi, and BSNL remained operational throughout the outage.
The outage comes shortly after Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) implemented significant price hikes on their recharge plans, increasing rates by approximately 26%. The price hikes went into effect on July 4th.
Jio is yet to issue a statement regarding the network outage and the cause behind it remains unclear. Users continue to express their dissatisfaction on social media and await a resolution from the telecom giant.
