**Los Angeles, CA** – Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice” continues to dominate international box offices, taking in an estimated $28.7 million this weekend, bringing its total overseas haul to $76.3 million. The film, which premiered in Venice last month, has a global total of $264.3 million.
“Beetlejuice” saw strong performances in France and Germany, where it debuted at the top spot with $4.9 million and $2.3 million, respectively. The UK remained the film’s top market with $19.1 million in revenue.
Meanwhile, “Spak No Evil,” a horror film from Universal/Blumhouse, made its international debut this weekend in 73 markets, grossing $9.3 million. The UK was its strongest opener, bringing in $1.84 million. The film’s global launch reached $20.8 million.
Other notable international performances include “It Ends with Us,” which has now grossed $180.6 million overseas and $325.5 million worldwide. “Alien: Romulus” continues its strong run, reaching $330.7 million globally, with $229.4 million from international markets.
Rounding out the top performers is “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which added $5.7 million to its international total, reaching $683.5 million and a global gross of $1.305 billion. The film is now the 23rd movie ever to cross the $1.3 billion mark.
The international box office also saw strong performances from “The Greatest of All Time,” a Tamil film starring Thalapathy Vijay, which has grossed an estimated $49 million worldwide. “Stand by Me” and “I, The Executioner” debuted in China and Korea respectively, with impressive opening numbers.
“Despicable Me 4” continued its global domination, bringing in an additional $5.6 million this weekend, pushing its international total to $580.6 million and its global gross to $940 million.
