Sun Sep 15 13:48:52 UTC 2024: ## UK March for Life Draws Record Crowd, Denounces Abortion as Healthcare

**London, UK** – The annual March for Life in the United Kingdom drew a record crowd of 10,000 this year, with protesters rallying against the widespread availability of abortion and challenging the notion that it constitutes healthcare.

The event, organized by March for Life UK, featured speakers who argued against the current legal framework in the UK which allows for abortion on grounds including risk to the woman’s life, health, or mental health, as well as potential disabilities of the child.

Speakers, including Dr. Calum Miller and Ira Winter, directly challenged the claim that abortion is healthcare, a talking point gaining traction in the United States as well.

Dr. Haywood Robinson, a former abortionist now advocating for 40 Days for Life, denounced the abortion industry as a “cartel” focused on profit rather than healthcare. Adam Smith-Connor further emphasized the disconnect, stating, “Calling abortion health care because it involves doctors and drugs is like calling the death penalty health care because it also involves doctors and drugs.”

March for Life UK’s Isabel Vaughan-Spruce stressed the inherent right to life, declaring, “Our most basic form of justice must apply to all or it ceases to be justice and becomes selective privilege. Life is not a privilege to be earned but a gift bestowed on us at conception by Almighty God.”

Claire Culwell, an abortion survivor, shared her story, revealing that she had a sibling who did not survive abortion and highlighting the often-forgotten human cost of the procedure. She urged attendees to get “uncomfortable” and fight for the unborn.

The event, which concluded with a march past Parliament and a rally in Parliament Square, underscored the growing anti-abortion sentiment in the UK, mirroring the debate unfolding in the United States following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
