Sun Sep 15 03:51:02 UTC 2024: ## Ubisoft Accused of Using Bots to Inflate “Assassin’s Creed Shadows: World” Trailer Engagement

Gamers have accused Ubisoft of using bots to artificially inflate the positive engagement on the trailer for their upcoming game, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows: World.” The allegations arose after players noticed a pattern of suspiciously similar accounts posting positive comments with an unusually high number of likes within a short time frame.

The accounts, all featuring a “first name, last name, followed by four numbers” format, were created recently and gained an average of 3,400 to 5,100 likes each on their comments, all posted within four hours of each other. Furthermore, the comments themselves are unique, suggesting human authorship but with bot-driven amplification of likes.

Adding to the suspicion, the comments have now disappeared from the trailer, possibly deleted by YouTube or Ubisoft. The incident raises the question of whether Ubisoft knowingly used bots to enhance the trailer’s engagement.

The allegations come at a time when “Assassin’s Creed Shadows: World” is already facing criticism over its price, setting, and animation quality. It is in Ubisoft’s best interest to maximize positive engagement for the game. However, the use of bots would be a controversial tactic, potentially damaging the game’s reputation. Ubisoft has yet to comment on the allegations.
