Sun Sep 15 14:22:37 UTC 2024: ## Trump Allies Push Conspiracies at Michigan Town Hall

**Farmington Hills, MI** – A town hall hosted by allies of former President Donald Trump in Michigan focused more on promoting conspiracy theories than on policy discussions, according to a report by Michigan Advance. The event, part of Trump’s “Agenda 47 Policy Tour,” featured Republican figures like Vivek Ramaswamy, Tim Walberg, and Tudor Dixon, who all amplified claims of election fraud and a “deep state” controlling the government.

While briefly addressing issues like inflation and border security, the panel largely centered on Trump’s allegations of a rigged election and accusations of a shadowy, unelected bureaucracy manipulating government policies.

The event comes as both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris continue to campaign heavily in Michigan, a crucial battleground state. Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, campaigned in Grand Rapids and East Lansing this week, while Trump and his vice presidential nominee, J.D. Vance, are scheduled to campaign in Flint and Sparta on Tuesday.

The town hall also saw Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, reiterate the former president’s accusations that Harris supported funding gender transition procedures for undocumented immigrants in prison. Habba also boasted of being sanctioned for a case accusing Hillary Clinton, former FBI officials, and the Democratic Party of colluding with Russia to damage Trump’s campaign.

Ramaswamy further targeted Harris, criticizing her lack of defined ideology and comparing her unfavorably to Bernie Sanders, whom he acknowledged for at least having policies, even if he disagrees with them.

The panelists echoed Trump’s calls for mass deportation and claimed the justice system is weaponized against him. They also pushed Trump’s narrative of government censorship, alleging conservative voices are suppressed on social media.

The event was criticized by election experts, who pointed out the lack of evidence for the conspiracy theories presented and warned about the potential for these narratives to undermine democratic processes.

The Michigan Advance report highlighted the focus on baseless claims and conspiracies at the town hall, raising concerns about the impact of such misinformation on the upcoming elections.
