Sun Sep 15 11:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Blues Prospect Robertsson Scores in Overtime to Win Tom Kurvers Showcase Game

**Maryland Heights, MO** – Simon Robertsson, a Swedish prospect for the St. Louis Blues, scored a dramatic overtime goal to secure a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in the first game of the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase on Friday night. Robertsson’s determination and hustle were evident as he followed his own shot, crashed the net, and ultimately buried the puck for the win.

“That’s a great effort,” said Blues AHL affiliate Springfield coach Steve Konowalchuk. “Takes a shot, goes diving. That’s something that you want to keep talking about all the time, that desperation, work ethic.”

This was Robertsson’s first appearance in a prospect tournament since playing exclusively in Sweden over the past five seasons. The 21-year-old left winger is making the jump to North America this fall and is expected to provide depth for Springfield.

“I heard that they wanted me to play here this year and I was so happy to get the chance to come over here,” Robertsson said. “I’ve been wanting to come over here since I got drafted. They thought it was the right time now, so I’m really excited for the season.”

The Blues will play Minnesota’s prospects in the final game of the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Centene Community Ice Center. This game is free and open to the public.

In other news from the showcase, defenseman Adam Jiricek participated in the start of practice on Saturday morning before departing. He is recovering from knee surgery and is not expected to play Sunday.

Forward Tomas Mrsic exited Friday’s game with an injury and did not return, but was on the ice for practice Saturday. Forward Antoine Dorion did not play Friday and was also absent from Saturday’s practice due to an upper-body injury.
