In an interview with Geekerwan, Srouji emphasized the importance of optimizing performance for key features like Apple Intelligence. He explained that extensive data analysis led to the conclusion that 8GB of RAM was necessary to enable the full potential of the new AI-driven capabilities.
“We don’t want to be wasteful,” Srouji said. “We look at different configurations, both for computation and memory bandwidth and memory capacity. And then we make the right trade-off and balance of what actually makes the most sense.”
