**Ballymena, Northern Ireland -** Police are investigating a suspected arson attack that took place in a Ballymena apartment building yesterday evening. The incident occurred just after 6:30pm on Saturday, September 14th, when Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire at a residential property in the Warden Square area.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the fire was deliberately started in the bedroom of the apartment, causing significant damage. One person was present in the building at the time, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Detective Inspector McDowell, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are treating this attack as arson with intent to endanger life. The fire was set in a block of apartments, and the consequences of this act could have been much more serious.”
The PSNI is appealing for any information or witnesses who may be able to help with their investigation. They are particularly interested in any CCTV footage, dashcam footage, or other relevant information.
