Sun Sep 15 09:53:06 UTC 2024: ## PM Modi Welcomes “Deepjyoti” – A Newborn Calf with a Mark of Light

**New Delhi:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a heartwarming moment with his followers on Saturday, introducing a newborn calf named “Deepjyoti” at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. The calf, born to a cow at the Prime Minister’s residence, features a distinctive mark resembling a symbol of light on its forehead.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi can be seen affectionately interacting with the calf, stroking its forehead and walking with it in the garden. He named the calf “Deepjyoti,” citing the ancient Sanskrit scripture “Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada:” which translates to “Cows bring all forms of happiness.”

This gesture echoes PM Modi’s previous interactions with cows, including a video posted earlier this year where he fed Punganur cows, an indigenous breed known for their resilience and nutritional milk. The Prime Minister’s affection for cows underscores the deep connection between India’s cultural heritage and its indigenous animal breeds.

“An auspicious new member has arrived in the Prime Minister’s residence,” wrote PM Modi in his tweet. “The beloved mother cow has given birth to a calf with a symbol of light on its forehead. So I have named it ‘Deepjyoti.'”

The arrival of “Deepjyoti” at the Prime Minister’s residence has touched hearts across the country, further highlighting PM Modi’s connection with India’s cultural and spiritual traditions.
