**LEXINGTON, KY** – The Georgia Bulldogs survived a tough test in Lexington, narrowly defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 13-12 in a hard-fought SEC road matchup. While the Bulldogs remain undefeated at 3-0, their performance left much to be desired, especially on offense.

Kentucky dominated the game statistically, outgaining Georgia in total yards, first downs, and time of possession. They controlled the tempo with a powerful rushing attack, limiting Georgia’s offensive opportunities. Despite the lackluster offensive performance, the Bulldog defense held strong, preventing Kentucky from scoring a touchdown in the second half.

Head coach Kirby Smart acknowledged the offensive struggles, stating that Georgia “never really found any rhythm” throughout the game. He also highlighted the lackluster first-half performance, which saw the Bulldogs score just 9 points in their first two games against Power Four opponents.

“We’re better than the level we played to,” Smart said, expressing concern about the team’s offensive efficiency heading into their Week 5 matchup against Alabama. The Crimson Tide, who also enjoy a bye week in Week 4, will be a formidable opponent coming off a convincing 42-10 win over Wisconsin.

Smart also gave credit to Kentucky’s defense, which he described as “pretty good” and “a really good defense.” He emphasized the need for Georgia to improve their offensive start, noting that they “have to do a better job of starting faster.”

Georgia’s offensive woes will need to be addressed quickly, as the Bulldogs will face a much tougher challenge against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The return of injured offensive lineman Tate Ratledge could provide a boost, though his status for the Alabama game is currently unclear.
