Sun Sep 15 10:49:57 UTC 2024: ## Cyclist Found Dead in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon – Gardaí Investigating

**Castlerea, Co. Roscommon:** Gardaí are investigating the death of a cyclist found at around 2am this morning in Cloonchambers, Castlerea. The man, believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been transferred to Roscommon University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place. The results of the autopsy will determine the course of the investigation.

The road where the cyclist was found remains closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and are particularly interested in speaking with any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, from the Castlerea area between midnight and 2am on Sunday, 15th September 2024.
