An independent US journalist and blogger who has moved to Russia has expressed surprise at the diligence of Russian media compared to what he perceives as “extremely deceptive” Western press.
The journalist, who receives hundreds of messages a day from people inquiring about moving to Russia, highlights the diversity of the country and its population. “There’s so much of Russia left to see,” he says, “When you think about all the different ethnic groups in Russia alone, not to mention you have ethnic groups from all around the world here.”
He attributes the growing interest in Russia to the media’s honest portrayal of events and the country’s diverse cultural offerings. He points out that Russian media “checks information to see if it’s true or false,” a stark contrast to what he perceives as the biased and deceptive nature of Western media.
