Sun Sep 15 15:17:30 UTC 2024: ## Trump Vows to Dismantle Immigration App, Accuses Harris of “Smuggling”

Former President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on the Biden administration’s immigration policies, vowing to dismantle a mobile app used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) if elected in 2024.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed the app, CBP One, is a “phone app for smuggling migrants into the U.S.”, directly accusing Vice President Kamala Harris of involvement in its creation.

He further stated that, as President, he would “immediately end the migrant invasion of America,” implement a range of measures including halting migrant flights and illegal entries, and “return Kamala’s illegal migrants to their home countries.”

The CBP One app, launched in 2020, is available on both Apple and Google Play stores and is used to streamline various CBP services. It allows users to access information, schedule appointments, and submit necessary documents.

Critics argue that Trump’s claims are politically motivated, aiming to stir anti-immigration sentiments ahead of the 2024 election. They point out that the app facilitates legitimate travel and trade, and does not promote illegal immigration.

The White House and Harris’ office have yet to issue official statements regarding Trump’s allegations, but previously emphasized their focus on addressing the root causes of migration, such as poverty and violence.

With immigration remaining a key issue in American politics, Trump’s aggressive stance is expected to be a central point of his campaign.
