**Srinagar:** BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday held the Abdullah family responsible for sowing the seeds of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming they did so to please their “mentors” across the border. He accused former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah of perpetrating brutalities against Hindus at the behest of the Pakistan ISI, leading to the exodus of over 1.5 lakh Hindus from the Valley.
Chugh, who is also the party in-charge for J&K and Ladakh, condemned Abdullah for allowing widespread violence to protect his vote bank and appease the Pakistan ISI. He claimed this led to a reign of terror for over two decades, paralyzing the economy and leaving a large number of people unemployed.
“After the abrogation of Article 370, a new era has dawned in J&K,” Chugh stated, highlighting a significant decline in terrorism and a focus on development. He attributed this positive shift to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in contrast to the period under the Abdullahs and Muftis.
Chugh urged Dr. Abdullah to stop playing divisive politics and prioritize bringing prosperity to Jammu & Kashmir. He argued that Article 370 had fueled terrorism and separatism, resulting in decades of bloodshed and instability. Its removal, he maintained, eliminated a key tool used to exploit and fuel terrorism.
In other news, Amit Shah is scheduled to address three poll rallies in J&K today. Meanwhile, a fresh encounter has broken out in Kathua, while another gunfight is underway in Poonch. The Congress’s future remains uncertain amidst speculation over a possible split due to concerns over excessive criticism of Hindus.
