**Lagos, Nigeria** – The long-awaited launch of the Dangote Refinery is nearing, with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) confirming that its trucks are ready to begin loading petrol from the refinery on Sunday, September 15th.

NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye stated that at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry by the end of Saturday. The deployment of trucks and personnel began earlier this week, with more expected to arrive throughout the weekend.

This news comes amidst reports of potential petrol price reductions and speculation about the refinery’s pricing strategy. While the refinery has indicated it will sell petrol to NNPC at ₦766 per litre, market players are calling for direct access to the refinery’s fuel supply to avoid potential market control by the NNPC.

The launch of the Dangote Refinery is seen as a major milestone for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, aiming to reduce the country’s reliance on imported refined products.
