The critically acclaimed horror film ‘Tumbbad’ has been re-released in cinemas, reigniting interest in the film that had initially failed to capture audiences at the box office in 2018. The film, which garnered significant praise on OTT platforms, has been met with renewed enthusiasm leading to speculation about a potential sequel.
Actor Soham Shah, who starred in and produced ‘Tumbbad’, has been fielding questions about a sequel in interviews and on social media. However, the answer appears to have been embedded in the film itself. In the movie’s ending, a voiceover by Shah reveals that the door to “Waade” will open again, signifying the return of “Hastar”. The screen then displays the message: “Tumbbad 2 Coming Soon.”
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, ‘Tumbbad’ took six years to complete and was released on October 12, 2018. While the film failed to achieve box office success, earning only ₹10 crore, its re-release and the possibility of a sequel have generated considerable excitement among fans.
