Sat Sep 14 02:55:53 UTC 2024: ## Seven Dead, 31 Injured in Horrific Bus Crash in Andhra Pradesh

**HUBBALLI:** A tragic accident on Friday claimed the lives of seven people and injured 31 others when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus collided with two trucks on the Chittoor-Bengaluru main road near Mogili ghat in Bangarupalyam mandal.

The accident occurred when the bus, en route from Tirupati, crashed head-on into a truck coming from Palamaneru. The impact propelled the bus into another truck, resulting in the deaths of six passengers, including the driver and conductor, at the scene.

The injured were transported to Palamaneru Area Hospital, with 25 reported to be in stable condition. The critically injured were subsequently transferred to a hospital in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, for specialized treatment.

Those killed in the accident include S Vijayamma (53) of Pakala mandal, Hansika Yadav (6) of Maharaj Ganj, Balaraju from Siddipeta, Sonu Kumar (31) of Baliya, bus driver Tirupathi, and truck driver S Manoharan (56).

Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar and Superintendent of Police Manikanta Chandolu arrived at the accident site to oversee rescue operations. Kumar announced that the state government would provide an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh to the families of each deceased.
