Fri Sep 13 15:16:00 UTC 2024: ## Titans Coach Flies to Seattle to Watch Son’s MLB Debut

**NASHVILLE, TN -** Tennessee Titans defensive line coach Tracy Rocker had a busy week preparing for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. However, he managed to squeeze in a special moment, flying to Seattle to watch his son Kumar make his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers.

According to reports, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk felt it was important for Rocker to be there for his son, so she allowed him to leave practice early on Thursday. Rocker was in the stands at T-Mobile Park to witness Kumar’s impressive first outing, where he pitched four innings, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out seven batters. The Rangers went on to win the game 5-4.

The team also showed support for Kumar on social media, with Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and the rest of the defensive line wishing him good luck in his debut.

Kumar, a former No. 3 overall draft pick out of Vanderbilt, had been working his way back from Tommy John surgery and pitched his way through the Double-A and Triple-A levels before reaching the Rangers this season.

“Rocker topped out at 97.6 mph on the radar gun, and his slider kept Seattle hitters off balance for his entire outing,” noted Dayn Perry in his breakdown of the rookie’s debut.

Rocker is expected to be back with the Titans in time for practice today.
