**Baku, Azerbaijan -** Max Verstappen of Ferrari has secured pole position for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the fourth year in a row, outpacing McLaren’s Oscar Piastri.
Piastri put in a remarkable performance, splitting the two Ferrari drivers as Carlos Sainz took third place. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez led the charge for his team in fourth, followed by George Russell in his Mercedes.
The qualifying session saw some notable surprises. Yuki Tsunoda, the lead Red Bull driver in qualifying, was eliminated in Q2. Meanwhile, both Williams drivers, Franco Colapinto and Alex Albon, reached Q3 with Colapinto edging his teammate. Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin managed to secure eighth place ahead of the Williams pair.
Lando Norris’s qualifying ended early after he exited in Q1, while Lewis Hamilton finished seventh for Mercedes, behind Verstappen.
