**Murfreesboro, TN** – Western Kentucky linebacker Darius Thomas is ready to face Middle Tennessee State University in the “100 Miles of Hate” rivalry game this Saturday. The redshirt sophomore, who missed the entire 2023 season due to a knee injury, is making his return to the game where he made a memorable pick-six against the Blue Raiders in 2022.

Thomas, who has transitioned from cornerback to linebacker, has been a standout for the Hilltoppers in the first two games of the season. He had a key sack and forced fumble in last week’s 31-0 shutout win against Eastern Kentucky. WKU defensive coordinator Tyson Summers praised Thomas’s athleticism and work ethic, noting that he was one of the team’s top performers during spring practice and earned a starting spot this year.
